Spain is putting infection and antimicrobial resistance under the HTA microscope in 2026.

Within the RedETS 2026 Work Plan, a cluster of assessments targets one of medicine's most urgent challenges: getting the right patient the right anti-infective at the right time. Topics in scope include screening for multidrug-resistant bacteria on hospital admission, AI-based sepsis prediction, antibiotic appropriateness and AMR awareness, infection surveillance in social-health centres, long-COVID biomarkers, and a rapid immunoassay to differentiate bacterial from non-bacterial infection in the emergency department.

For diagnostics companies, this is a signal: host-response and rapid-testing technologies that support antimicrobial stewardship are firmly on Spain's radar. All of these reports are currently in development, so the moment to understand the evaluation framework is now.

Learn how to position your evidence for these assessments in our webinar: Navigating Change: HTA and Market Access for MedTech & Diagnostics in Spain — with Chus Castillo, 29 October, 16:00 CET. Register: https://medtech.athagoras.com/webinars/
